More donkey milk. Cheaper per liter.
Our prices per liter are designed for different order quantities. The larger the quantity, the lower the calculated price per liter.
The Vital Program prices are calculated rounded to the nearest cent with a 30% discount on the respective volume discount. They assume that the respective order size is available in the program. Prices exclude any additional shipping costs. The current shop and program terms are decisive.
Why is donkey milk so expensive?
The price is determined by the interplay of milk volume, animal husbandry, processing, and shipping.
Milk volume
Compared to modern dairy cows, donkey mares produce significantly lower milk volumes.
Animal husbandry
Feeding, care, barn space, and veterinary care incur ongoing costs.
Processing
Hygiene, filling, packaging, and quality controls are part of production.
Shipping
Frozen milk requires suitable packaging and transport conditions.
Why milk yield affects the price per liter.
Donkey mares produce relatively little milk. The available quantity depends on factors including the lactation phase, husbandry, and individual differences.
In addition, the foal needs milk. Therefore, not all milk production is available for sale.
When ongoing costs are spread over less milk available for sale, the costs per liter increase.
Less available milk. Higher costs per liter.
Unlike large-scale industrial cow milk production, the available production quantities for donkey milk are relatively small.
This is a major reason for the higher price per liter.

Why does the price per liter become cheaper with larger quantities?
With larger orders, certain costs for packaging, processing, and logistics can be spread over more milk.
This makes it possible to have cheaper calculated prices per liter with larger containers or order quantities.

Donkey milk powder as another option.
In addition to liquid donkey milk, DON DONKEY'S® also offers freeze-dried donkey milk powder.
The powder can be stored dry according to the product information and mixed with water when needed.
For a fair price comparison, the mixing ratio, the resulting milk volume and the respective shipping costs are relevant.
