About DON DONKEY'S

Two brothers. Quite a lot of donkeys.
And an idea you don't come across every day.

We are not a corporation.

We are Brian and Justin Netuschil – we grew up on a farm in the Münsterland region, among horses, pigs, rabbits and chickens. Since 2020 we have had a mission you don't hear every day: bringing donkey milk back into everyday life. Honest, milked by hand and with our name on it.

How it all began
  • Family business since 2020

Our story

Six chapters. A rather stubborn plan.

Donkeys are considered stubborn. We think they are simply consistent. We picked that up from them.

Before there was DON DONKEY'S, there was a farm.
Chapter 1 · The farm

Before there was DON DONKEY'S, there was a farm.

Brian and Justin grew up among horses, pigs, rabbits and chickens. Not an idyll, but everyday life: mucking out stables, feeding, watching, learning. Growing up like that, you realise early on that every animal has a mind of its own – and senses immediately whether you mean it.

Donkey milk? Nobody knows it. That was exactly the point.
Chapter 2 · The idea, 2020

Donkey milk? Nobody knows it. That was exactly the point.

For centuries, donkey milk was valued in Europe. Then came industrial dairy farming – and there was no longer room for an animal that gives only a little milk and refuses to be rushed. In 2020 we decided: we are bringing it back.

We didn't look for certificates. We looked for calm donkeys.
Chapter 3 · The search

We didn't look for certificates. We looked for calm donkeys.

Milking is done by hand only, the foal is always with its mother, and people talk to the jenny. When we visit a farm, we look at the animals first: are they relaxed? Do they trust their keepers? Is their coat shiny? That says more than any paperwork.

Finding donkey milk is hard. Getting it to you frozen is harder.
Chapter 4 · The cold

Finding donkey milk is hard. Getting it to you frozen is harder.

Frozen at −18 °C, taken to Germany by a refrigerated haulier, then on to you in insulated packaging with GO! Express – only on Mondays and Wednesdays, so that nothing is in transit over the weekend. It usually arrives the next day by 12 noon.

Then the donkeys took over the marketing.
Chapter 5 · The donkeys become famous

Then the donkeys took over the marketing.

In summer 2026 a short video about the dark cross on a donkey's back went through the roof: over 600,000 views. In 28 days our videos were watched more than 1.5 million times. Since then we know who the real stars are around here.

Chapter 6 · Today

Fresh milk, powder, Vitalprogramm. And on the phone? Still us.

An idea has become a family business in which other family members pitch in every day – from the packing table to customer service. We have grown. Our standards have grown even more. But whoever calls us still speaks to the family.

In numbers

Numbers no corporation would be proud of.

  • 0milking machines
  • 200–500 mlis what we take per jenny per day – the rest belongs to the foal
  • −18 °Cfrom the farm to your front door
  • 2shipping days per week. No more. On purpose.
  • 1.5 mviews of our donkey videos in 28 days

The donkey myth check

True or just donkey talk?

We spend more time with donkeys than most people. Seven claims we hear all the time. What do you think?

Claim 1 of 7

„Donkeys are stubborn.“

Not true. Donkeys are cautious. When a donkey stops, it is checking whether the path is safe. A horse flees – a donkey thinks first.

Claim 2 of 7

„Donkeys don't like rain.“

Not true. Their coat is not as water-repellent as a horse's. That's why donkeys always need a shelter – and they use it.

Claim 3 of 7

„A donkey is just a small horse.“

Not true. Donkeys are a separate species. They even have a different number of chromosomes: 62 instead of the horse's 64.

Claim 4 of 7

„Donkeys have best friends.“

Not true. Donkeys form very close bonds. If two donkeys that are friends are separated, it can be really hard for them.

Claim 5 of 7

„A jenny is pregnant for around a year.“

Not true. About twelve months, sometimes longer. That is another reason why donkey milk isn't available at the push of a button.

Claim 6 of 7

„Donkeys only live 10 to 15 years.“

Not true. When well kept, donkeys often live to 30 and beyond. So if you get a donkey, you'd better plan long term.

Claim 7 of 7

„You can hear a hee-haw for miles.“

Not true. A donkey's call can be heard over several kilometres. Neighbours of donkey farms can confirm this.

The herd quiz

Which donkey are you?

Three questions. Honest answers. At the end you'll know which jenny from our herd suits you. Scientifically worthless, but surprisingly accurate.

Your ideal Saturday morning?

Question 2 of 3

Someone new joins the group. You …

Question 3 of 3

Which sentence could be yours?

Eselstute Laila
You are like Laila The wise one

You have seen a lot and bring calm to any group. You greet newcomers first – curious, but keeping an overview. Without you, the herd wouldn't work.

Eselstute Luna
You are like Luna The pleasure-seeker

You look for the sunniest spot, watch first and refuse to be rushed. You do things when you are ready. Not a minute earlier. Respect.

Eselstute Bella
You are like Bella The whirlwind

Run first, think later. You are the first in the pasture in the morning and always where the action is. If there are snacks anywhere, you know about it before anyone else.

Brian & Justin and their partners. Family, farms, a handshake – that's how we work.

A family business

Behind every bottle is our name.

DON DONKEY'S is not a corporation with a donkey logo. We are a family from the Münsterland region who make all the important decisions ourselves – from choosing partner farms and laboratory testing to the parcel that arrives at your door.

  • We know every farm personally. No anonymous supply chains, no faceless middlemen.
  • Donkeys first, then the milk. The foal drinks first. Milking only happens when the jenny is ready.
  • Tested, not just promised. Our donkey milk is analysed in an accredited laboratory in Germany.

Frequently asked questions

What you want to know about us.

And if your question is missing: you now know who answers.

Who is behind DON DONKEY'S?

The brothers Brian and Justin Netuschil. They founded DON DONKEY'S in 2020 and still run it as a family business today – together with other family members who help out with everything from customer service to shipping. The company behind it is Netuschil Enterprise GmbH, based in Lüdinghausen in the Münsterland region.

Do you have your own donkeys?

No, and that is a deliberate decision. We work with specialised partner farms in Europe that have been looking after their donkeys for years and milk by hand. We visit the farms, know the keepers personally and choose them based on how the animals are doing. Our job is everything that comes after that: quality, the cold chain and the journey to you.

Where does your donkey milk come from?

From small partner farms in Europe. There it is milked by hand, filtered, bottled and frozen. Laboratory testing and shipping take place in Germany. More on our production page.

Why donkey milk of all things?

Because we grew up with animals and because donkey milk is a food with a long tradition that was almost forgotten. It can't be mass-produced – and that is exactly what makes it special to us.

Who answers when I call?

Brian, Justin or someone from the family. We have no call centre and no hotline. You can reach us Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm by phone on +49 178 8081789, via WhatsApp or by e-mail at info@dondonkeys.com.

Can I see your donkeys?

Yes, almost every day. On Instagram (@dondonkeysofficial) and TikTok (@don.donkeys) we take you along to the farms we visit – with everything donkeys get up to.

What is the Vitalprogramm?

Our programme for everyone who would like to enjoy donkey milk regularly: 6 deliveries at intervals of 4 weeks with 30 % off and a welcome gift with the first delivery. You'll find all the details on the Vitalprogramm page.

What sets you apart from other suppliers?

We are not a corporation and not a faceless middleman. We know our partner farms personally, have our donkey milk tested in an accredited laboratory in Germany, maintain the cold chain to your front door and answer the phone ourselves.
