Overnight oats are the ideal breakfast for busy mornings: the oats soak in the refrigerator overnight, becoming soft and creamy. Donkey milk gives the jar a mild, slightly sweet note – and the milk is not heated at all.
Ingredients for 1 jar
- 50 g fine oats
- 150 ml donkey milk (thawed)
- optional: 2 tbsp yogurt for extra creaminess
- optional: 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup to taste
Preparation
- Mix: Add the oats, cinnamon and optional chia seeds to a screw-top jar.
- Add donkey milk: Stir in the donkey milk and yogurt until everything is well mixed.
- Let soak: Close the jar and place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Top: Stir in the morning, sweeten to taste and top with fruit or nuts.
Topping ideas
- Berries and a few chopped almonds
- Apple cubes, cinnamon and walnuts
- Banana and a little cocoa
- Pear, ginger and hazelnut
Tips
- Donkey milk is thinner than cow's milk. If you prefer it thicker, use a little more oats or yogurt.
- Use thawed donkey milk within 3 days and enjoy the oats the next day.
- With donkey milk powder: dissolve 15 g of powder in 135 ml of cold water and use as above.
